The new CAT4+ digital platform delivers highly refined locate capabilities, specifically designed to help the operator find more buried utilities. The CAT4+ Avoidance Mode™ lets the operator check an intended excavation area for Power, Radio and Genny signals, and pinpoint located utilities in a single scan.

StrikeAlertTM: This feature minimizes the risk of hitting shallow cables by providing an audible and visual warning to the operator. The StrikeAlertTM has been enhanced and optimized to reduce false warnings.

Avoidance ModeTM: This allows the operator to sweep an area using Power, Radio, and Genny signals simultaneously, saving time. The CAT4 lets the operator control the sensitivity of each mode/signal, enabling buried utilities to be pinpointed in a single pass .

Dynamic Overload Protection: The CAT4+'s unique digital signal processing capabilities allow it to reject electrical interference, enabling it to continue operating in electrically challenging areas where other locators may be overloaded and stop functioning .

Genny4 Signal Boost: The Genny4 transmitter offers a Signal Boost feature which increases the output signal by up to 10 times, allowing the operator to locate utilities over extra distance and depth .

High Visibility Display with Backlight: The CAT4+'s high contrast display and automatic backlight provide optimum visibility in all light conditions .

Data Acquisition: The eCAT4 and gCAT4 models can store over a year's worth of key measurements and usage data, which can be exported and analyzed using the CAT Manager software to identify training needs and provide historical records .

eCertTM: This feature provides a fast and thorough test of the CAT4's key circuitry elements, validating their performance against the original factory calibration over the internet .

SWINGTM: The CAT4+ is designed to respond quickly to even the smallest detectable underground signals. The eCAT4 models have sensors to detect incorrect usage, such as excessive swinging, and warn the operator with an alert that is also stored in the data log .

Service Due Indicator and CALSafeTM: The eCAT4 models provide a 30-day countdown warning to the expiry of the calibration certificate, and the optional CALSafe feature can be set to prevent the unit from operating outside the calibration period, ensuring compliance with company policies .
